Erin Ronder Neves

For thousands of years, across all colors and cultures, pregnant people have been surrounded by others along their journey into parenthood. A pregnant person is meant to be celebrated and nurtured throughout pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. I would be honored to be a part of your support team as your doula, childbirth educator and/or lactation counselor.

Through a nonjudgemental, physiological approach to birth, evidence based care, and individually curated perinatal services that range from a complete in-person birth support package to a variety of a la carte options, I will engage you and your partner as active participants in your birth. I commit to empowering your autonomy, enabling your accessibility to quality care and prenatal education, and honoring your innate superpowers so that you remain in the driver’s seat of YOUR body, baby, and birth experience from conception to first birthday.

Once Your Doula, Always Your Doula

What is a doula?

And why you need one.

A doula is a support person that provides a birthing person with emotional support, physical comfort, and equal access to unbiased, quality evidence based resources to create an empowering pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. A doula seeks to provide continuity of care for a birthing person and partner throughout their perinatal journey, and encourages them to make informed, educated decisions about their care. Doulas are committed to ensuring that a birthing person is seen, heard, and validated. A doula always embraces all birth preferences.

  • A doula will advocate, empower, respect and honor one’s birthing preferences and labor support plan without judgement.

  • A doula will use a myriad of skills to help a birthing person stay present, and call upon the intuitive, primal power, and strength within to connect with one’s baby to encourage labor and birth to be as smooth as possible.

  • A doula will support communication between partners, families and medical providers to ensure all benefits, risks and alternatives are presented and discussed before making informed, educated, consensual decisions throughout pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.

  • A doula will encourage a partner to explore how they can be an active participant in the perinatal period and birth experience.

  • A doula will create an inviting and loving space for an expecting family to freely ask questions, have access to unconditional support, as well as expert advice, recommendations and referrals as needed to create a healthy, safe perinatal experience.
